It is not easy to start a WAHM business with all the competition from the many other WAHM businesses out there. The key to making your business recognizable is networking. Networking involves spreading the word about your business by talking to people and working with others to talk up their businesses as well. Networking today is done mainly online for many businesses. The following are some tips for networking for your WAHM business:
1. Create a website. Anyone can create a website with the use of software available or by paying an expert to create the website for you. After your website is done, you will have to fill it with informational articles that are going to bring in traffic. These articles need to be related to what it is your WAHM business does and has to offer. If you are selling purses you sew yourself, you would write about sewing, fashion, fabric, and of course, purses.
2. Create links that bring traffic to your website. You can’t just create a website and wait for people to show up. You are going to have to promote your website. One way to do this is by finding blogs related to your website topic. If you are selling purses you sew yourself, you would look for blogs about sewing, fashion, purses, and other related topics, and add a comment on these blogs. In that comment, you can link to your website and people will be able to learn more about you and your products by clicking on the links. You can get a lot of traffic this way.
3. Create a Facebook page for your business. A great networking tip is to use a Facebook page to get the word out about your business. When you comment on blogs as in the tip above, you can also link to your Facebook page. You could also request that people add your business as a “friend” on Facebook. This helps other business owners because you can work together through networking to promote each others businesses.
4. Twitter about your business. People twitter about all sorts of random things in their lives but Twitter can actually be a great networking tool for businesses. You can link to your business website in the Twitter profile you create and you can comment about what is going on with your business. Your Twitter comments can reflect updates on your website and blog posts you make.
These are great networking tips for WAHM businesses that may take some time but they will bring in more money for you.
